Gift Groups

Gift Groups are permanent communities for year-round wishlist sharing. Think of them as your inner circle — “Smith Family”, “College Friends”, or “Work Buddies”.

Members can share their wishlists with the group, and everyone can see upcoming birthdays and coordinate gift-giving throughout the year.

Actions

Create a Gift Group

1. Go to Gift Groups in the sidebar
2. Click Create Group
3. Fill in the details:
   • Name — Something descriptive (e.g., “Smith Family”)
   • Description (optional) — What’s this group for?
   • Join Mode — How can people join?
4. Click Create Group

Invite Members

1. Open your group
2. Click Invite Members
3. Copy the invite link and share it with family or friends
4. They click the link to join (approval may be required based on join mode)

Join a Group

1. Receive an invite link from a group member
2. Click the link
3. If the group requires approval, your request is sent to the admin
4. Once approved, you can see all shared wishlists

Share a Wishlist with a Group

1. Open your wishlist
2. Click Share → Share to Group
3. Select the group(s) to share with
4. Group members can now view your wishlist and claim gifts

View Group Wishlists

1. Open the group
2. See all wishlists shared by members
3. Click any wishlist to view gifts and make claims
4. Upcoming birthdays are highlighted

Set Birthday Leadtime

Configure how early members are reminded about birthdays:

1. Open group settings
2. Set Birthday Leadtime (default: 14 days)
3. Members receive reminders this many days before each birthday

Leave a Group

1. Open the group
2. Go to settings
3. Click Leave Group
4. Your shared wishlists are removed from the group

Manage Members (Admin)

As a group admin, you can:

1. Open the group
2. Go to Members
3. Approve pending join requests
4. Remove members if needed
5. Transfer admin rights to another member

Join Modes

Mode	Description
Open	Anyone with the link can join immediately
Approval Required	Members request to join, admins approve
Invite Only	Only admins can add new members

You can change the join mode anytime in group settings.
