Managing Family Profiles

Not everyone in your family needs their own Giverr account. Family Profiles let you create and manage wishlists on behalf of others — perfect for kids, pets, elderly relatives, or anyone who doesn’t want to manage their own account.

A family profile is a person (or pet!) that you manage within Giverr. You can:

  • Create wishlists for them
  • Add gifts on their behalf
  • Share their wishlists with family and friends
  • Track their birthday for reminders

Common examples:

Profile TypeExample Use
ChildrenCreate wishlists for kids too young for their own account
PetsFido needs treats too! Share pet wishlists with the family
GrandparentsManage wishlists for relatives who aren’t tech-savvy
BabiesSet up a registry-style wishlist for a new baby
  1. Go to SettingsFamily Profiles
  2. Click Add Profile
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Name — Their name (or pet name!)
    • Birthday (optional) — For birthday reminders
    • Relationship — Child, Pet, Parent, Grandparent, etc.
  4. Click Create Profile

Once you’ve created a profile, you can add wishlists just like you would for yourself:

  1. Open the family profile
  2. Click New Wishlist
  3. Fill in the occasion details (birthday, holiday, etc.)
  4. Add gifts by pasting URLs or entering manually

Share a family member’s wishlist with your Gift Groups or via link:

  1. Open their wishlist
  2. Click Share
  3. Choose to share with a Gift Group or copy the share link
  4. Family and friends can now view and claim gifts

Here’s the magic: even though you manage the profile, you won’t see claim information. When someone claims a gift from your child’s or pet’s wishlist, it stays hidden from you — just like your own wishlists.

This means you can share little Timmy’s birthday wishlist with grandparents, aunts, and uncles, and they can coordinate without you knowing what’s been claimed.

You can create as many family profiles as you need. They all appear in your Family Profiles section, making it easy to:

  • Switch between profiles
  • Create wishlists for different occasions
  • Keep everyone’s gift preferences organized
